LEE, NH — A Maine man was taken into custody after firing several shots outside a Market Basket in Lee. Police said officers were called to the Market Basket plaza off Route 125 Saturday afternoon for reports of shots fired in the parking lot. The incident forced a lockdown at the Market Basket and the other stores in the plaza. When officers arrived, they found a man, identified as Gordon Falt, 27, armed with a handgun walking around a vehicle, police told WCVB. Police said Falt fired several shots into the air, but no one was hurt during the incident. According to Foster's Daily Democrat, the shooter was also aiming at police stationed outside one of the stores in the plaza. Falt was taken to the hospital for evaluation following his arrest. According to reporters at the scene, Falt surrendered peacefully and did not appear injured. There is an active shooter situation at the Market Basket in Lee, according to my mother, who is in lockdown in the store. She's been texting my wife and I from inside the store. Police on scene. More to come. @FostersDailyDem @seacoastonline pic.twitter.com/U8TZVYNSXK— Kyle Stucker (@KyleStucker) October 17, 2020
