I agree! Unfortunately, there are "not so talented" musicians who play shows for attention. They just want to re-live their teenage years, and be on a stage... any stage... for any price. I won't haul my gear anywhere, or play any gig, for less than $250.00 (my cut of the money) . The average gig takes about five hours. One hour drive time - to and from a gig. Two / Three / Four hours on stage preforming. Subtract your expenses for a typical $100.00 - 150.00 gig - (gas... sticks... strings... etc...). If you're lucky, you might make "Minimum Wage". Also, don't forget that you're hauling thousands of dollars worth of gear to your "Minimum Wage" gig. Think about it...
