Help a champion of human rights spread her message of equality and solidarity, help Farrah Chaichi get nominated to be the next Democrat representing House District 35, and help build a movement to pass transformative legislation protecting basic human rights like housing, healthcare, and a habitable planet. Position: Field Canvasser Compensation: $22 per hour ($25 on Saturday and Sunday) This position is temporary and will not continue after May 17th, 2022. This position is for a regular employee (you will receive a W-2), not an independent contractor. The pay period is weekly, with the work week beginning on Sunday and ending on Saturday, and payday on Friday of the following week. Schedule: Scheduling is flexible, you can work the days and hours that you want, within some reasonable limits, and you can change your schedule each week. You must be willing and able to work no less than 4 hours and no more than 24 hours per week. Each shift is 4 to 6 hours, depending on how much you want to work that day, not including lunch break. Only one shift per day, and no more than 4 shifts per week will be allowed. Hours that canvassing will be allowed are between 10am and 8pm. Qualifications: Qualified applicants must have both: 1) previous relevant work experience such as (but not limited to) experience canvassing for a political campaign, cause, or organization, gathering signatures, or door-to-door sales/marketing and; 2) at least two different professional references (i.e human beings) that can verify your relevant work experience. A resume is not required. Applicants will be required to provide personal identification and financial information necessary for receiving compensation, as well as relevant work experience. Job Description: The job primarily involves door-to-door canvassing throughout the neighborhoods of Oregon House District 35 (which includes most of Aloha and central Beaverton) to help boost Farrah Chaichi's campaign message and turnout voters. Specifics: A. Canvasser will be walking, standing, knocking on doors, and engaging in dialogue for 4 to 6 hours a day. This means talking to new people every day you canvass and asking them to support and vote for Farrah, face-to-face, at their home. B. Canvasser will be using the MiniVAN application on their personal mobile devices. This means entering data into the app after each door knocked and/or contact made. C. Canvasser will distribute campaign literature while canvassing. Sometimes canvasser may be asked to only distribute literature door-to-door, in lieu of knocking on doors. D. Canvasser will be required to meet with their supervisor in-person at least once per week. E. Having been vaccinated against COVID-19 is required for all canvassers. F. Canvasser must be friendly, courteous, and genuinely supportive of Farrah's platform and message. Canvasser must only be canvassing for Farrah Chaichi and must actually be canvassing for the whole period for which they are being paid.
