Sweet Heeler/Corgi? Mix Needs Home

Description
We took in a 2.5 yr old girl who is very sweet. Problem is, I think she needs a calmer home. I have rambunctious young children and they seem to stress her out a bit too much. She tolerates them, doesn't ever growl or anything, but because she's bit fearful (I don't know how she was treated before) she hides in her kennel. She loves going outside, and I've started teaching her some commands, but she's just not fitting our life and family. I have a toddler who is always trying to drive cars on her, or play with her tail, so it's a bit much trying to keep them both safe (although really it seems I mainly have to protect her from my son! She just tries to get away from him!) The boys want a dog they can wrestle and play with, and she's not really that. We probably need to wait a couple more years for them to get older. She'll play with adults and even my oldest child. She'd probably do best with age 10+ or calmer youngsters. She's good with cats, leaves ours alone when we ask her to. She does want to meet the cat, but he's not interested. We were told she might be big dog-reactive if they approach her "rudely" but I have no info really on that as we don't have other dogs. She is completely housetrained, sleeps in her kennel for us fine, and is walking on leash around town great. She didn't like being in the yard while we were in the house, but likes it if we're out there with her. I was told she lived with a small breed dog just fine, but cannot confirm. We've had her 2 weeks, and I've spent much time working on her listening and engagement with me, which she's pretty good at. Got her to lay, then sit with treats, look at me, leave it, go to place, stay, wait for permission before leaving the house, etc. She's pretty responsive to all of it except sitting. She will get it with time tho, I'd bet. Don't push or even touch her bottom tho, that seems to stress her. She is spayed, and just got her yearly shots (rabies, kennel cough, and parvo). She has a microchip but we haven't updated the info on it, so it's probably tracked to her old owner. She loves playing tug, and loves this squeaky bone we bought. She'll fetch it and with encouragement bring it back to us to throw again. She hasn't nipped at all, but kinda is playful with her mouth when excited, if that makes sense. She also calms right down afterwards. She would love a home with people who will let her cuddle on the couch and want to lay with her in the bed. She lets strangers pet her and even tried to cuddle a few little girls who approached her at the park. She also doesn't bark hardly at all, which is a huge plus! She seems content to lounge around and then also content to go out for walks (although not super excited about staying out too long when it's really cold outside). She hasn't acted hyper or crazy, she's really mellow actually! The only problem we've seen is her reluctance to eat regular dog food. I'm wondering if her previous owner fed her lots of people food, or just treats or something. The vet said she was a little overweight so we haven't fed her any human food (except the toddler throwing her a goldfish cracker of course). We're asking a small rehoming fee to ensure she gets a good home. She'll come with a collar, leash, some treats, her kennel, and the toys she likes. Please reach out if you're interested in this sweetheart!
