Description
Female lead vocalist, male drummer, and male guitarist (in our 50's) are forming a new band to gig out two to three times a month in the Gaston/Cleveland/Lincoln/Mecklenburg area (wineries, micro-breweries, private parties). The song list is an array of pop/country/rock from the 70's into the 2000's. We would be focused on songs our venues want that mix genres and tempo.
We are looking for a primarily for a bass player who can provide back-up vocals and ideally relieve the lead singer for a song or two per set. We're also interested in another guitarist and/or keys.
We've done this many times before so the basics are:
- Come together as a band
- Create an initial song list of approx. 60 songs and commit to them
- Learn the songs as needed individually
- Come together to rehearse 10 songs per session to get starts/ends/parts needing attention
- Develop a brand, logo, social media (I will do)
- Market to appropriate venues (bars, weddings, festivals in the area)
Requirements for each band member:
- You have to be a good musician (great is not needed)
- You have to treat others well
- You have to be sober enough to be accountable, to be able to play
- You have to be a team player who understands they might not love every song or every gig
- You have an ego that will allow for all of the above
I will provide rehearsal space, recording for demos (video and audio), marketing, PA/lights as necessary. I will lead reaching out to venues but everyone should be looking and talking as possible for them.
If you've gigged yourself you know this isn't about money but you can expect $100 per gig, more for private parties. We may play a gig or two for free or tips if needed to help us market initially, or always for a good cause with full-band agreement.
