......open minded individuals to compare & contrast notes :)) I play bass guitar, synths and electronics, percussions, and throat singing / strange vocalisations. I am interested in making heavy grooving music that is inspired by Afrobeat, Gnawa music, HEAVY music, progressive rock, free jazz / improv-"energy music", noise, Indian Classical, world folk, odd times & high strangeness on the path to finding out what's what~~~~~~~~ think something like Fela Kuti meets Sumac & Albert Ayler jamming with Yes (????) If you know of other interesting artists pursuing similar things please let me know, as my listening has not been very widely cast out for some time and I've been somewhat in hermit mode for a bit doing my thing(s) (there are lots of other influences and bands I've seen along the way I could cite, of course: Subarachnoid Space, Transient, the Mysore Brothers, Rush, King Sunny Ade, Coltrane, Keith Jarrett, Tinariwen, Kef.....))))) as for the heavy-jazz inspired music-best I've heard yet is a band from Spain called ORTHODOX ((((trolls and those who would name call & talk shit without the means to back it up need not trouble themselves)))) This is Eugene so I'm sure there's got to be some questioning-it-all nutcases out there, if not I'll keep on keeping on)))) peace & fire bagachatiy.bandcamp.com
