Alert to all looking for pets. Many people posting on here will ask you for money to "hold" the pet until you can pick it up. All of these are scammers. It's ok for a rehoming fee but not a "holding" fee. They will take your money and then block your number. They will charge a "rehoming fee" for around $40-$200 (most of the time they ask for $50 rehoming fee). After they talk to you a bit and make plans for you to come get your pet, they will tell you that you need to pay $5 - $50 so they can hold the pet for you (most of the time they ask for $10-$25 or half of the rehoming fee). Please do not lose your money to these people. They will never give you a pet. If you flag them, they will simply delete their post and steal pictures of another pet listing, and make another post to avoid being identified and to keep the scam going. I know you want so badly to get whatever cute pet they are claiming to have but they are just tring to take as many people money as they can. They will say things like, "Why would i scam only $10 or $20." but the scam isn't about getting a small amount of money from you -it's about getting a small amount from MANY PEOPLE. It adds up. If they can get only 5 people to send them $20 -that is $100 / and per week that is $700 per week. They don't need a lot from one person, only a little from many people being scammed. Please don't be one of the ones scammed into giving them money. DON'T send money in any kind of way to people you meet online, unless you are standing in front of them with the pet / or you are in possession of the pet. Please be safe everyone.
