The Natural Gardener, Austin’s premier organic gardening headquarters, is currently seeking a skilled and knowledgeable groundskeeper to work full-time with its hard-working grounds keeping team. Our grounds team looks after our wonderful display gardens, orchard, and wild areas of our 8 acres. We would love to find a person with the following skills and attributes: Skills: • Several years of organic gardening experience. • Good knowledge of Texas native and well-adapted plants, especially plants for our area. • Experience in all areas of gardening, i.e., planting, pruning, weeding, composting, fertilizing, and mulching. • Irrigation and carpentry skills are a definite plus! Attributes: • You must be self-motivated and able to work autonomously, with little direction, throughout the day. • You must also be able to work in a team environment. • You must be friendly, flexible, and enthusiastic • You must be able to work outside all day long, in all types of Texas weather. • You must be physical able to bend, squat, lift, dig, and pull weeds for long periods of time each day. • You must be physically able to lift 25lbs many times a day. • You must be detail oriented and organized. • You must be safety minded.
