Mennonite Village is a not-for-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community in Oregon's beautiful Mid-Willamette Valley. We are currently seeking a Full Time Painter to be responsible for paint, stain, and finish work. In order to be considered for employment, please see  and click on the "Apply" button. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Maintains buildings in good repair and free of hazards. Checks for work orders related to her/his assigned area. Assures completion of work order in timely manner and returns order for documentation. Repaints and touches up Village units in times of vacancy. Selects and arranges purchase of all painting material and supplies. Determines what process best fits the job. Selects equipment required to perform tasks and makes recommendations to Supervisor for purchase approval. Able to perform skilled painting tasks. (i.e.: spraying paint and laquers) Analyzes a job, makes decisions and follows through with the process, tools, equipment and scheduling to complete the job. Meets with resident and/or staff to schedule appropriate time to perform tasks when space is occupied. Trains and supervises helper when assigned. Documents completed tasks with supervisor and appropriate facility director. Practices and is aware of proper usage of safety equipment required for performing painting tasks in accordance with Federal, State and local regulations. Carries out preventative painting maintenance program as required. Assures customer satisfaction by providing quality painting services all to Village Residents. Maintains required records and reports related to current maintenance projects. Cleans and repair equipment as needed before returning it to the proper place. Keeps work area clean and neat. Engages in regular inspection of work to monitor quality and progress. Operates vehicles in accordance with Federal, State, and local regulations. Attends inservice educational programs as requested. Regular attendance and punctuality is an essential function of the job. Abide by the standards and procedures of the Mennonite Village Compliance and Privacy Program and Values and Expectations Statement. Abides by the HIPAA policies and reports to a supervisor, breaches (or violations) of our HIPAA policies. Immediately reports identified hazards or hazardous conditions to a supervisor. Immediately reports adverse events and near misses to a supervisor. Attends mandatory training on HIPPA and compliance annually. Nothing in this job description restricts management’s right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time. QUALIFICATIONS: Supportive of the Mennonite Home philosophy. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and reading English. At least one year of previous painting experience. Ability to make decisions, prioritize workload, and respond appropriately to change. Ability to work with a variety of age groups, but especially the elderly. A good working knowledge of use and care of carpentry, plumbing, and electrical tools. Ability to hear, see, feel, and smell within normal limits. Ability to follow written and oral instructions. Ability to perform moderately heavy lifting (80lbs.) prolonged standing or walking, working from ladders, bending, stooping, twisting, crawling, and reaching. Possession of valid Oregon drivers license. Ability to qualify for MH insurance as a driver.
