Description

Press release from the Village of Montgomery: During October and November, Montgomery public works crews provide bulk leaf pick-up services to Village residents. Leaves must be raked neatly no more than 5' from the curb/edge of roadway in front of the home by 7a on Monday of each collection week. Crews will make one pass through the Village during the following weeks: October 26th, November 2nd, 9th and 16th. Additional pickups will continue as needed until the end of November. Grass clippings, sticks, twigs and other debris cannot be collected by the leaf vac. Placement of foreign debris in the leaf piles will result in the crew skipping your address. Crews are unable to vacuum leaves that are within 10' of a tree, mailbox, fire hydrant, streetlight, street sign, etc. Do not park cars in front of the leaves to be collected, as the leaf vac will not be able to reach them. The Village's refuse hauler, DC Recycling, will also pick up leaves each week on your regularly scheduled collection day for no additional charge. No stickers are needed; however, you will need to put the leaves in yard waste bags or clearly marked 32-gallon yard waste cans with two handles. Bags must be placed at the curb no earlier than 5p the night before your scheduled collection. Remember—leaf burning is prohibited by Village ordinance.
