MURRIETA, CA — A Murrieta Starbucks store is temporarily closed after an employee showed signs of coronavirus but has not tested positive for the illness, according to the company.
Starbucks spokesperson Jory Mendes said Friday "there is no positive case of COVID" at the shuttered 39589 Los Alamos Road location, but the store did shut down out of an "abundance of caution."
The employee and all other Starbucks workers who were in close contact with the individual are self-isolating for 14 days and are being paid for missed time, Mendes said.
"Due to limited staffing, the store is closed," Mendes explained.
The Los Alamos location is scheduled to reopen July 17.
"Starbucks continues to take elevated cleaning and sanitizing protocols that meet or exceed public health guidelines to protect our partners, customers and communities," Mendes said.
