NASHUA, NH — A social media post featuring weapons, circulating among Nashua school students, has prompted officials to step up police presence at schools Friday. Police and Jahmal Mosley, the school superintendent of SAU 42, both stated the post was not considered a credible threat of violence against the district but they were taking precautions anyway. Mosley, in a post on Twitter, stated the post involved "pictures of weapons" and police have located the student responsible. Sgt. Robert Goodwin of the Uniform Field Operations Bureau of the department said schools would have a normal schedule Friday. "There were no direct threats made to specific Nashua schools and at this time the threat does not appear credible," he added "The Nashua Police Department takes all types of threats seriously and will be continuing their investigation. School will have a normal schedule for today." Mosley said both organizations were made aware of the post at 5 a.m. Friday. The post was circulated Thursday night. "Thank you to the Nashua Police Department for their immediate response," Mosley said. Got a news tip? Send it to me at [email protected]. View videos at https://www.youtube.com/user/tonyschinella.
