Learn all about different types of moss, how moss grows, how to care for it, and how to propagate it. Then make a tiny moss terrarium! This class will start off with a basic run down of Moss, moss is an interesting genus of plant that grows and spreads like no other plant! In the first half of this workshop you will learn about different types of moss, how moss grows, how to care for it, and how to propagate it. The second half of this workshop is hands on! Each student will be provided with a glass vessel, drainage rocks, and soil. Together we will build a landscape and then cover it with live moss! There will be a few different kinds of moss available for each student to pick from. Moss varieties will depend on seasonality. This class lasts 1 hour to 1.5 hours depending on how long students take to make their terrariums! The Kooky kodama lives locally in the Worcester forest where she harvests and cultivates native moss varieties along with many other plants. This Kodama is committed to protecting her forest and chooses recycled materials whenever possible. The class will be indoors and masks are required.
