It takes a community to grow an urban forest! Tree Stewards is looking for a few hardy folks to plant some native trees in Alexandria! Please join Tree Stewards of Arlington and Alexandria in planting native canopy trees in Ben Brenman Park in Alexandria, VA. Tools, gloves, and refreshments will be provided. Please dress for the weather and wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. No experience is necessary, as Tree Stewards will provide instruction on how to properly and safely plant a tree. Please plan to arrive by 12:45 pm to sign in and enjoy some juice and breakfast treats. The event will begin promptly at 1:00 pm. Registration through Eventbrite.com is required in order to receive further logistics information and directions to the exact meet up location. Note on COVID: - CDC’s current data suggest the risk of transmission of SARS-CoV-2 in outdoor settings is minimal, and this activity will take place in an area that provides ample room for social distancing as well. Tree Stewards urges all event participants to social distance as much as possible. We do not require masks in this outdoor setting for those who are fully vaccinated and can maintain social distance. We do encourage those who are immunocompromised or those who prefer to wear masks to wear them. - Volunteers/customers should not come to this event if they have any COVID symptoms, or have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 in the last 14 days. - Masks and hand sanitizer will be available on site.
