Trinity University to Host 6th Annual Arturo Madrid Lecture Series featuring guest speaker Chicana novelist Helena Maria Viramontes. This year’s symposium will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. and will feature presentations given by distinguished scholars on the work of Chicana novelist Helena María Viramontes. Invited presenters include: Cordelia Barrera. Ph.D. (Texas Tech University), Mary Pat Brady, Ph.D. (Cornell University), Jody Marin, Ph.D. (Texas A&M Kingsville) and Gabriella Gutiérrez y Muhs, Ph.D. (Seattle University). The Madrid Lecture will be delivered by Viramontes at 5 p.m. The symposium and Madrid Lecture are free and open to the public. Book signing to follow. Registration is required due to limited space.
