Community involvement to help raise awareness and discover solutions on the issue of child abuse! Speakers, entertainment, vendors, and more BPNM will be hosting their 5th annual child abuse awareness event Saturday, April 2nd, from 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm at Rocky Hollow Athletic Center 142 S. Maple St Somerset, Ky. Speakers from our community will be sharing information on child abuse awareness as well as creating a healthier home for our children. Over the past year, our children and families have had to continue make many new adjustments. Often, our children suffer when changes are made due to a lack of communication and proper preparation. Sadly, Kentucky continues to hold the ranking of #1 in the nation for substantiated cases of child abuse. That does not mean it must remain so. There is hope! Those on the front lines work hard to protect our precious children, yet they need assistance. We can help with sharing hope and by raising awareness of abuse as well as providing healthy solutions. We believe at BPNM that we will help with change in this area as we collaborate with others within our community. We are excited to have with us this year County Judge Executive Steve Kelley, Lt Bobby Jones, Daniel Cornelius, Representative Shane Baker, Amanda Mitchell of CASA, April Groce Slagle with From the Heart Ministries and more. Musical entertainment will be provided by nationally known singer and impressionist Kevin Adams and Jay York. There will be various vendors to visit. We are also hoping to share a very special announcement this year with our supporters who stand with us against child abuse and other atrocities heaped upon our families! BPNM is a faith-based nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness of child abuse, domestic violence, and human trafficking. It is vital to extend a helping hand to those in need.
