Fuller Lodge Art Center 2022 Summer Camp Week 3 June 20-24th Fuller Lodge Art Center proudly presents 2022 Summer Art Camp! Join us for fun with paints, papers, writing, acting, drawing, singing and more! This year we hope to bring back a full program with classes for all interests. Check out our camp offerings for students from 1st through 12th grade. We have a wide variety of teachers with diverse camp sessions and are adding more every week. Fuller Lodge Art Center Summer Camp offers week long camps. Prices listed are for a single one week session, either AM or PM. AM Sessions: 9-12 Lunch 12-1 PM Sessions 1-4 Each three hour sessions includes a 15 minute snack/activity break held outdoors. Our classes can get MESSY; please wear clothing that is comfortable and can get dirty. Since we spend time outdoors on the Fuller Lodge lawn and some classes have outdoor components, dressing with light layers for cooler weather and wearing sunscreen is recommended. Each session contains a short snack and activity break, please send a small snack with your child. If your child will be attending concurrent AM and PM sessions, we hold a lunch break from noon-1, lunch is not provided, please send a lunch with your child's name visible on the outside. We offer scholarships based on the generous donations of community members. If you are in need of a scholarship for your student, please contact [email protected] Purchasing a ticket through Eventbrite holds your student's space in camp but registration is not complete until all releases and waivers are received. You can fill these out using the google form found here: Registration Forms/Student Info Age and grade levels are firm. Students must be the age listed on the camp description on the first day of camp to participate in age level activities. Students in grade level classes should be in, or entering into, the minimum grade level for the listed session. Class A: Recycled Armor: Bottlecap Chainmail Plastic Scale-mail and Cardboard Plate! Students in this adventure based class will learn all about knights, armor, and fantasy worlds! Teacher: Erin Scott Grade Level: 4th-6th Number of Students: 10 Special Instructions: None Class B: Sorcerer's Apprentice Wizards Witches and Wyrms are Welcome! Craft a magic wand, stitch a wizard hat and conjure all sorts of witchy crafts! Teacher: Jacob Spill Grade Level: 1st-3rd Number of Students: 10 Special Instructions: None Class C: Introduction to Acting Working with award winning Director David M Daniel, students will explore the basics of the craft of acting, working deeply on Improv games, Script Work, and Body Awareness Techniques. Students will learn to bring a variety of characters to life, and time permitting, will even work together to produce original scenes for performance. Teacher: David Daniel Age Level: 4th-6th Number of Students: 12 Special Instructions: Students should expect a variety of different experiences, and should dress in clothing that is comfortable and easy to move in. Class D: Coming Soon! Description of Class: Coming Soon! Teacher: Nicholette Smith Grade Level: 1st-3rd Number of Students: 10 Special Instructions: None Class E: Find Your Voice Find your Voice: Young writers, finding your voice can seem like a hard first step. In this class students will mimic, mock, mangle and mediate on the voices of established authors and start a journey to create their own voice in the written word Teacher: Cat Ozment Grade Level: 7th-8th Number of Students: 10 Special Instructions: None Class 1: Recycled Armor Students in this adventure based class will make and paint their own cardboard armor including their own, personalized Knightly crest! Teacher: Erin Scott Grade Level: 1st-3rd Number of Students: 10 Special Instructions: None Class 2: Sculpture 101 Students will create various projects using a variety of materials including scrap wood, clay and paper maiche. Teacher: Dee Homans Grade Level: 1st-3rd Number of Students: 10 Special Instructions: This class may use hot glue guns under adult supervision. Class 3: Art of Mexico Students in this class will make projects based on some of Mexico's many arts and crafts traditions. Teacher: Ellen Mancini Grade Level: 4th-6th Number of Students: 10 Special Instructions: None Class 4: Sorcerer's Apprentice Wizards Witches and Wyrms are Welcome! Craft a magic wand, stitch a wizard hat and conjure all sorts of witchy crafts! Teacher: Jacob Spill Grade Level: 4th-6th Number of Students: 10 Special Instructions: None Class 5: Story Anatomy Students in this class taught by author Cat Ozment will learn story structure by analyzing the skeleton of a fairy tale. This is a great class for beginner or advanced young writers. Teacher: Cat Ozment Age Level: 13+ Number of Students: 10 Special Instructions: Fairy tales can get grim and dark sometimes! Students should be aware that material may have elements of folk and fairy tales that aren't always pretty! This class may be held in outdoor settings and a smaller studio space upstairs at Fuller Lodge Art Center. Students should dress accordingly and wear comfortable shoes. Class 6: Intro to Dungeons and Dragons At the table of veteran author, actor, and gamemaster David M Daniel, students will learn the basics of how to create and play characters for Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition in a micro-campaign designed specifically for them. No prior experience with Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition is required, and all supplies including access to rules documents is provided by instructor (though students familiar with the system may bring their own supplies if they so desire). Learn the process of playing this smash hit game from the very first attack roll, to slaying your first Dragon, in a fun welcoming environment suited to beginners and still challenging for veterans as well.
