Create a meaningful therapy experience for clients by developing practical and creative skills to use in your therapeutic practice. Presented by Dr. Martha Mason, LCPC, Asst. Professor North Park University Dr. Mason has worked in the field of clinical mental health for over 20 years and actively employs mindfulness techniques as part of her own well-being and in clinical practice with clients. Clinicians also need to continue engaging in their own self-care. This workshop will increase participants’ abilities to do both. In this 2-hour continuing education workshop, Dr. Martha Mason will guide participants through a fun and interactive experience that incorporates: Mindfulness and the mindful practitionerMotion Connection CreativityDr. Mason will discuss the foundation of mindful practice and explain how clinicians can use the four elements above to bring more authenticity and connection into their practice and their own daily lives. Dr. Mason will also discuss insights and tools from the fields of positive psychology and expressive therapies. Objectives: Participants will learn the history and foundation of mindfulness practice and how to incorporate it into clinical work with clients; Learn practical techniques to put into use immediately; Develop the beginnings of their own mindful practice.
