SGA and the Women & Gender Equity Center are excited to present MARCH: A Celebration of Leaders in Gender Equity. The Celebration is open to everyone and aims to foster a safe, inclusive, and positive space. A complementary dinner buffet will also be provided.
We’re excited to announce this year’s keynotes: Niki Thran and Dia Brown!
Dr. Niki received her Bachelor of Science degree from Tufts University and her M.D. from Vanderbilt University. Since completing her internship and residency at the University of Massachusetts, Niki has spent 30 years providing care in emergency rooms across the country while raising her three children. In addition to her work as District Medical Advisor, she serves on several hospital committees, including the Energy Committee and the Patient Experience and Diversity and Equity Committees. Niki is the current President of the Vermont Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP).
Dia Brown (they/she) is a recent graduate of UVM with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and the current interim Program Coordinator for the Mosaic Center for Students of Color (MCSC). They plan to go to Penn State this Fall to pursue a PhD in Architectural Engineering with a structural specialization, used to safe and sustainable (both humanly and environmentally) housing from a holistic approach. She started the UVM National Society of Black Engineers in 2018 and was the president for two years.
Please join us for these exciting keynotes, which includes a Q&A. MARCH will also include some brief awards from the Women & Gender Equity Center! RSVP today!
