His dramatic ballads were ahead of their time, with unique arrangements and passionate orchestration. David K’s band emulates these songs articulately and with feel. Roy credits Linda Ronstadt with energizing his career when she recorded his song Blue Bayou, a hit of his own many years before. The movie Pretty Woman theme song got Roy back on the radio. Roy’s song In Dreams was put in director David Lynch’s movie Blue Velvet. Then in the 80s Roy met Jeff Lynne of ELO who produced his final solo album, Mystery Girl With the hit You Got It. 28 solo albums, and then the Traveling Wilburys happened.
