LAKE ELSINORE, CA — Two Lake Elsinore residences were busted within the past two weeks as illegal marijuana cultivation sites, one person was arrested and more than 1,100 plants were seized after search warrants were served, according to authorities. One home, on the 45000 block of Anabell Lane in the Rosetta Canyon neighborhood, was transformed entirely into a grow site, while the majority of the second property, on Villa Scencero in the Tuscany Hills community, was used for cultivation, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department said. Electrical systems at the houses also were illegally altered, resulting in a "severe fire hazard" at both sites, deputies said. An individual at the Anabell Lane property, Li Shucheng, was arrested for suspicion of illegal marijuana cultivation, officials said. No additional details on the suspect were released. Seized at the Anabell house during the Nov. 9 warrant service were 718 marijuana plants in various stages of growth. At the Villa Scencero home, served Nov. 19 with a warrant, 386 plants in varying growth stages were found and eradicated, deputies said. The power was turned off at both homes due to the illegal wiring, and the properties were declared uninhabitable, deputies said. The two investigations were launched in early November following community complaints, the agency said. Anyone with additional information on the Villa Scencero case can call Deputy Aguirre at the Lake Elsinore Sheriff's Station (951) 245-3300. And for the Rosetta Canyon site, calls can be directed to Deputy Meissen, also at (951) 245-3300. Deputies reminded residents that "community policing" involves partnerships between law enforcement and citizens, and that business owners and residents are encouraged to report criminal activity to sheriff's dispatch at (951) 776-1099, or to dial 911 if the matter is an emergency.
