Description
IMAA brings the topics and conversation starters, Cafe Steam brings the coffee and tea, and you bring yourself just the way you are!
This event is part of a monthly dialogue series. IMAA will bring a new topic that relates to refugees, immigrants, and cultural diversity. This month we will be talking about language barriers. When two people don't speak the same language, this often leads to misunderstandings, gaps in communication, confusion, but also laughter in trying to figure out what each other are saying. Join us as we share personal stories, challenges, and tips to overcome the anxieties that come with language barriers.
Join us for a couple hours of of meaningful conversation and hopefully you will leave the dialogue feeling more enriched, reflective, and self-aware. Or, at the very least, you will leave with yet another one of Café Steam's delicious coffee or tea drinks in your stomach.
Facilitators will be Jessica Ibarra, Community Health Worker from IMAA.
Are you inspired to join?
Space is limited and we are still being cautious with COVID among us. Masks are required.
