BROOKLINE, MA — A Brookline High School senior was selected to participate in the United States Senate Youth Program, said Superintendent Linus Guillory. Aditi Shankar was one of two students chosen to join Senators Elizabeth Warren and Ed Markey to represent Massachusetts during the 60th annual United States Senate Youth Program last week. Along with the nation's top student leaders, Shankar participated in an intensive study of the federal government and the people who lead it. This included attending online meetings and briefings with Senators, the President, a Justice of the Supreme Court, and other leaders of cabinet agencies. The competitive, merit-based program also provided participants with a $10,000 undergraduate college scholarship. "We congratulate Aditi on this recognition of her outstanding leadership abilities and a strong commitment to service and civic engagement!" said Guillory in a statement.
