Press release from the West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce: March 14, 2022 West Des Moines, Iowa, March 11, 2022 – The West Des Moines Library Friends Foundation invites you to attend a Wine, Beer, and Cheese Fundraiser from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday,  April 7. The event will be held at the Raccoon River Nature Lodge at 2500 Grand Avenue in West Des Moines. Guests will have the opportunity to sample unique wines, craft beers, and cheeses. They can also learn about authors and books representing favorite selections from the library staff and board members. Guests will also have the opportunity to learn about a new project to support the purchase of a Pop-Up Library Vehicle, which will allow the Library Youth Services Team to easily transport staff, library items and event materials in and around West Des Moines. This vehicle, which is specifically designed for outreach events, has visual appeal and includes unique features such as a built-in PA system and digital screens for offsite gaming, digital storytelling, video demonstrations, and program announcements. A free will donation will be accepted at the door or can be mailed to the library at 4000 Mills Civic Parkway, West Des Moines IA 50265. Donors can also contribute electronically at www.wdmlibrary.org. The Friends Foundation Board would love to see you there! The West Des Moines Library Friends Foundation supports the West Des Moines Public Library and the many services, materials, and programs it provides to the community. It also sponsors and hosts special events at the library, such as talks and book signings by local authors.
