CONCORD, NH — The eighth-largest cable operator in the United States has activated its first residential and business customers in Concord. Breezeline, formerly known as Atlantic Broadband, turned on Internet and cable access for its first customers in the city on Monday. The activation is the first in a multi-million effort to expand services into Concord as well as Dover, Durham, and Madbury, in New Hampshire, and communities in West Virginia. Breezeline got the OK to expand services in Concord in January after approval from the Concord City Council. "We are pleased to be the first provider in Concord to offer Fiber-to-the-Home with symmetrical internet speeds," Heather McCallion, the vice president of products and programming for Breezeline, said. "This service will provide reliable, high-performance Internet speeds so customers can connect easily to everything that's important to them." The company offers Internet speeds of 200/200 Mbps, 500/500 Mbps, and 1,000/1,000 Mbps (1 Gigabit) with no data caps. It also has business-class Internet with speeds of up to 10 Gbps. The announcement by the company came just days after Comcast said it increased speeds to customers company-wide. Consolidated Communications is also expanding its offerings in a number of New Hampshire communities. Got a news tip? Send it to [email protected].
