JOLIET, IL — One year after opening his new Lenny's Food N Fuel at Drauden Road and Theodore Street, Lenny McEnery plans to build a second gas station and convenience store on Joliet's far west side. At 2 p.m. Thursday, Joliet's zoning board will review the special use permit for a Gas N Wash at the northeast corner of Caton Farm Road and Ridge Road. The construction project is near the Plainfield South High School campus. The Lenny's Food N Fuel calls for a 7,000-square-foot convenience store, with an additional 1,000 square feet of retail space to the east. The main building will feature two separate drive-through aisles for each respective drive-through lane, city of Joliet documents show. There will be 14 fuel pumps for cars along the property's south side, with an additional three fuel lanes for trucks under a separate canopy to the east. The car wash building would be built away from the fueling canopies and the convenience store building, city documents show. The Gas N Wash project involves five lots totaling 7.9 acres, the city stated. As for McEnery, his other Joliet projects include: the Lenny's Gas N Wash on Route 6 and Gougar Road, the Lenny's Gas N Wash at Theodore Street and Drauden Road and the Lenny's Route 66 Fuel Stop at 2401 South Chicago Street.
