Woman Spotted Driving 'Erratically' Charged With DWI: Police

SAG HARBOR, NY — A woman was charged with driving while intoxicated in Sag Harbor Friday, police said. According to Southampton Town Police, at 11:38 pm., Julie Thompson, 56, of New York, NY, was arrested and charged with misdemeanor DWI. Thompson was observed by a witness operating her blue BMW erratically on Sagg Road in Sag Harbor, police said. The person called police, who responded; the witness followed Thompson and alerted police to her location, authorities said. Police arrived and interviewed Thompson on Narrow Lane in Sagaponack, where she pulled over onto a dirt driveway, police said. During the investigation it was determined that Thompson had been driving while intoxicated; she was arrested and transported to Southampton Town Police headquarters for processing and held for a morning arraignment, police said.
