SMITHTOWN, NY — Curious about what's going on in your neighborhood? Check out the recent crimes reported in the area between March 6 and March 12. The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt. March 12: Grand larceny (fourth-degree) was reported on Celestial Court in Smithtown at 4 a.m. Someone went into an unlocked 2020 Range Rover parked in front of a home and stole cash, an iPad, a laptop, a wallet, and bank cards, police said.March 11: Grand larceny (third-degree) was reported on Middle Country Road in Nesconset at 1:30 a.m. A person went through multiple cars at Sal's Auto Body and nabbed tires and rims off of eight vehicles, police said. Five vehicle windows were also broken, police said.March 10: Identity theft (first-degree) was reported on Croft Lane in Smithtown from Sept. 20, 2021, at 12:01 a.m. Someone used someone else's banking information to make multiple charges, police said. The identity theft was reported to the police on March 10.
