Ahoy! We’re seeking a melodic bassist who also wants to provide vocals. (Will consider guitar, but we have preference for bass.) As a duo, we've been writing 2-minute catchy, noisy, tunes. We want songs to have space, yet be tight, rhythmically. We like hooks and melody and a big sound. We also don’t mind discordance and drones. It would be great if you are comfortable with “jamming” at practices to generate new ideas. (We are open to exploring new sounds together, but do not expect that we are suddenly going to force a sound that isn’t natural for us.) We have a handful of songs, but we need you to continue the writing process and help play them live! (Hoping to book shows this summer and fall.) We’d be happy to send you demo recordings! We’re approaching this project as a means to have a creative outlet, write songs we like, and enjoy ourselves. We’re quite lighthearted, but at the same time want someone who is able to commit and be reliable. A strong sense of humor is required. Moms and dads welcome! We understand if you have family (or work) obligations, but are also still creating and producing music in your thirties/forties/fifties ;). NOTE: You will need to take public (and our) health seriously and be vaccinated, as well as be amenable to wearing masks at private practice space. We’re looking forward to outdoor shows and COVID becoming endemic.
