Standard Poodle needs home

We got a rescue standard poodle from our groomer (the old owners had abandoned him with her), took him in and got him neutered, up to date on vaccines, and taught him some basic commands and manners. He has been great in the house and with other dogs. He is also very snuggly and mellow. The massive issue we are having is that he growls and sometimes snarled at new person that try to pet him. I have people coming and going all the time at my home and worry if someone in public tries to pet him without asking what will happen. We have tried treats when anyone approaches but I think he is just super insecure with new people greeting him. He is potty trained, crate trained, and knows heel, sit, down and stay. I think he just needs a home with less foot traffic and quiet neighborhood walks. Just asking $25 rehoming fee.
