I’m trying to find a like minded person to practice with and expand my guitar skills. I’m a retired graphic designer, ("well seasoned", but younger than Mick Jagger.) I judge myself to be a fair to middlin’ advanced intermediate player, and I’m thinkin’ a jam/practice partner of a similar skill level could be fun and mutually beneficial to try things out and learn with, test each other, and to hone our chops.
I have been focussing on early blues and country, rockabilly, and pre-64 rock and roll, and would like to meet someone who shares an interest playing these genres with a jam partner, trading riffs and licks. Meet maybe 1-2 hours every other week, but I’m flexible. I am not interested in forming a band or performing or playing new songs, just learning through sharing and having some fun playing. The catalog of American popular music I’m studying from 1940-1965 has literally hundreds of songs to learn from.
I don’t care about your color, gender, age, or any other irrelevant criteria, except it would be good if you are already familiar with or wanted to learn some of the songs. It would also be easier for both of us if you lived within 5 miles or so of 97215. A male or female vocalist would be nice also.
If you are fully vaxxed and boosted, and this idea appeals to you, please send an email with your name and phone #, and I will call you back. I won’t respond by text or email. Sorry to do it this way, but it’s the only way I have found to avoid the spammers.
Thanks.
