Description
I need someone experienced in putting insulation onto the back of garage doors that have horizontal reinforcement struts.
I bought.75" foil backed foam board and Reflectix flexible foil material to put in between the 'joists' of my garage door. Unfortunately my garage door has the horizontal struts, and they are integrated with the hinges and door structure at the corners. These are preventing me from being able to fit in the foam board pieces.
I know I could cut the foam board down into smaller squares/components and use the foil backed tape, and I am assuming some of this will need to be done in some places anyway -- the bottom horizontal strut is tied into the door with red bolts and very clear "do not remove bolts" stickers. This job is for someone with more experience than me to do this, so it would be done safely and correctly.
I have most tools I assume would be needed for the job (razor knife, extra razors, carpenters square and hand tools). Here are the materials I've bought:
1. Four sheets of R- 5, 0.75-in x 4-ft x 8-ft Pro select R-matte plus-3 Faced Polyisocyanurate Garage Door Board Insulation
2. Foil Tape 3340 Heavy Duty HVAC Tape 2.5-in x 150-ft
3. R-21 Attic Wall Unfaced Reflective Roll Insulation (400-sq ft 48-in W x 100-ft L)
I would like the reflective roll insulation put in first, with the board behind it to help hold it into place.
I'm offering $30 dollars an hour. I will buy any other consumables needed for the job. Valid state ID is required for me to make a copy of. Experience in working with garage doors is a must as a safety measure.
