Description

Do you feel as if a lender took advantage of you through loans? Do you feel as if you were unfairly targeted with high-cost loans? Have you defaulted or missed payments on loans because of balloon payments, exploitation on behalf of the lender, or otherwise believe you have received or encountered predatory loans? If so, please consider participating in this Economics Thesis study! Receive $10 and a chance to win a $100 grand prize for participating in a 20-25 minute phone interview which entails sharing your experience with borrowing loans. You will be asked questions regarding how you believe this experience has impacted your financial and personal future. You will be asked to choose a pseudonym so all personal information can be kept strictly confidential. Interviews will be conducted via secure Zoom video conference or phone call at a convenient time for you. Basic demographic information will also be collected. This is an IRB-approved study for an Economics Thesis about Predatory Lending designed and run by a senior at Amherst College. We are seeking approximately 8-12 participants.
