ISO small house dog to adopt

My husband and I recently lost our sweet little dog. (little yorkie terrier mix) He passed away from cancer and it broke our hearts. We are both retired seniors and are now looking another little, small dog to adopt into our family. We do not want a puppy at our age and would be open to a senior dog. Our house is small so we can not have a big dog. Would prefer a poodle, yorkie, shih tzu, dachshund, (mix). Willing to pay a rehoming fee if reasonable. We have a fenced in back yard, the dog would be living inside our home and would not be left alone. Can provide vet and grooming references if needed. We are located near SJAFB in Goldsboro.
