Description
Grace Slick, at 80, might best be known as the lead female singer for Jefferson Airplane and Jefferson Starship, composer of the hit single "White Rabbit," among her many rock and roll kudos, but what she's up to now may surprise you. After her retirement from singing, Grace, who had always dabbled in the visual arts, became more and more invested in the art form.
She now spends most of her time, when not creating, attending the many art shows featuring her work. Grace uses a variety of media in her paintings and drawings. Her most popular prints and originals are those with an "Alice in Wonderland" theme--including (not surprisingly)--many of the White Rabbit. In addition, she paints portraits of individuals she has known in the music industry.
Grace's "Alice in Wonderland" pieces led to her partnership with Dark Horse Comics, Inc., which produced stationary and journals with that theme. Quite a journey.
