Certificated Teacher Providing Academic Services Hi, I'm Sergio Alvarez -Ruiz, an educator, with over 16 years of experience. I have served as a teacher, curriculum specialist, Assistant Principal and Principal for K-12 public, charter and private schools. I spent most of my teaching career in secondary education; predominantly middle school grades. I have taught:  -Mathematics ( general to algebra 1)  -History (Ancient civilizations, medieval times , U.S. history) -English and Spanish Language Arts & Literature & Writing -Spanish 1,2,3 and AP Spanish as a foreign language -Science ( Life, Earth and Physical) I am fluent in both English and Spanish. I have had the privilege to teach in Dual Immersion, Two-Way Immersion, Gifted and Talented, AVID, Newcomers, and Mainstream programs. I know how important your child's education is and know that education has been significantly impacted by Covid-19. It is concerning and California public schools will continue to provide distant learning for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year with the hope to return to a regular bell schedule in January of 2022. I am here to be at your service to assist through dire times.
