Merrimack Man And Londonderry Woman Sentenced In Fentanyl Case

CONCORD, NH -Attorney General Gordon J. MacDonald, Rockingham County High Sheriff Charles Massahos, and the United States Drug Enforcement Administration Special Agent-in-Charge Brian D. Boyle announce that three individuals have been sentenced for their involvement in a conspiracy to bring approximately 1.2 kilograms (2.6 pounds) of fentanyl into New Hampshire for distribution. On July 23, 2020, Joseph Grasso, age 38, of Merrimack, New Hampshire, was sentenced to 10-20 years stand committed in the New Hampshire State Prison, with the opportunity to suspend 2 years of the minimum and 4 years of the maximum sentence if he is recommended for substance abuse treatment and successfully completes it. Mr. Grasso previously pleaded guilty to one charge of conspiracy to sell a controlled drug, subsequent offense, on January 2, 2020, but his sentencing was delayed in large part due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Trevor Phillips and Margaret Herrmann also previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute a controlled drug and were sentenced in February 2020. Mr. Phillips, age 28, of Manchester, New Hampshire, was sentenced to 10–20 years stand committed to the New Hampshire State Prison, with the opportunity to suspend 2 years of the minimum sentence and 4 years of the the maximum sentence if he successfully completes substance use treatment while incarcerated. Ms. Herrmann, age 34, of Londonderry, New Hampshire, was sentenced to 2–5 years stand committed to the New Hampshire State Prison.
