You lament your responses discuss the previous president. It is hard to discuss Biden without discussing Trump. Biden is the electorate's response to the 45th president. Most Democrats were not that fond of him but chose the person they most felt had a chance to remove the previous president. The moderates would have preferred an Amy Klobuchar with Pete Buttigieg V.P. The left preferred a Sanders or Warren ticket. But that my friend is the rub. The right has the same divisions in their party. The old-fashioned, down-home conservatives, and the new evangelicals and Tea Party have split the GOP in half. But instead of uniting to ensure party wins, they were so divisive, someone like Donald Trump, a lifelong liberal, N.Y. City Democrat was able to march right up the middle and hijack the party. TRUST ME! Had the Democrats did the same thing, allowed a total outsider in who said word for word, and actions 100% the same, you all would be outdone as we were. Don't know if that answers your question, but it's how this old man sees it at least.
