Fuller Lodge Art Center 2022 Summer Camp Week 4 June 27th-July 1st Fuller Lodge Art Center proudly presents 2022 Summer Art Camp! Join us for fun with paints, papers, writing, acting, drawing, singing and more! This year we hope to bring back a full program with classes for all interests. Check out our camp offerings for students from 1st through 12th grade. We have a wide variety of teachers with diverse camp sessions and are adding more every week. Fuller Lodge Art Center Summer Camp offers week long camps. Prices listed are for a single one week session, either AM or PM. AM Sessions: 9-12 Lunch 12-1 PM Sessions 1-4 Each three hour sessions includes a 15 minute snack/activity break held outdoors. Our classes can get MESSY; please wear clothing that is comfortable and can get dirty. Since we spend time outdoors on the Fuller Lodge lawn and some classes have outdoor components, dressing with light layers for cooler weather and wearing sunscreen is recommended. Each session contains a short snack and activity break, please send a small snack with your child. If your child will be attending concurrent AM and PM sessions, we hold a lunch break from noon-1, lunch is not provided, please send a lunch with your child's name visible on the outside. We offer scholarships based on the generous donations of community members. If you are in need of a scholarship for your student, please contact the FLAC directly at classes@>>> Purchasing a ticket through Eventbrite holds your student's space in camp but registration is not complete until all releases and waivers are received. You can fill these out using the google form found here: Registration Forms/Student Info Age and grade levels are firm. Students must be the age listed on the camp description on the first day of camp to participate in age level activities. Students in grade level classes should be in, or entering into, the minimum grade level for the listed session. Class A: Superheroes Blastoff! Time: 9:00 AM-Noon Blast off to the mulitverse for some superhero themed crafts and arts projects Teacher: Jacob Spill Grade Level: 1st-3rd Number of Students: 10 Special Instructions: None Class B: Coming Soon! Time: 9:00 AM-Noon Description of Class: Coming Soon! Teacher: Nicholette Smith Grade Level: 1st-3rd Number of Students: 10 Special Instructions: Coming Soon! Class C: Creature Feature: Monster's Galore! Time: 9:00 AM-Noon Students will be designing villains to face their heroes using creatures from the real world! Teacher: Erin Scott Grade Level: 4th-6th Number of Students: 10 Special Instructions: None Class D: Writing for Comics and Graphic Novels, Mastering the Visual Story Structure Time: 9:00 AM-Noon Join veteran author David M Daniel as he teaches the process of story craft for Comic Books and Graphic Novels. Learn the techniques and industry norms used to produce scripts for Visual Storytelling Media, as well as outlining techniques and character profiling to add pop and drama to any work of visual storytelling. Teacher: David Daniel Age Level: 12+ Number of Students: 12 Special Instructions: PLEASE NOTE: This class is focused on the WRITING of Comics/Graphic Novels, and no instruction in ART or DRAWING will be included. Also, no art will be required of students during participation in the class (though it is encouraged). Finished works selected by the instructor may be offered slots in a Journal collecting finished writing works from writing classes across the summer. Class 1: Creature Feature: Creepy Creatures! Time 1:00 PM-4:00 PM Create colorful and creepy creatures and learn about wild and amazing creatures in our real world! Teacher: Erin Scott Grade Level: 1st-3rd Number of Students: 10 Special Instructions: None Class 2: Coming Soon! Time 1:00 PM-4:00 PM Description of Class: Coming Soon! Teacher: Nicholette Smith Grade Level: 1st-3rd Number of Students: Special Instructions: Class 3: Poems from the Middle Ground Time 1:00 PM-4:00 PM Using a guided question and answer process, compose, revise, edit and workshop a poem everyday. Peer and mentor response teaches what works with your readers. Teacher: Benjamin Green Grade Level: 4th-6th Number of Students: 10 Special Instructions: Students will be provided with a composition notebook for this class. Class 4: Movie Making Magic Time 1:00 PM-4:00 PM Create Props and become actors in a short sci-fi action movie whill be posted to a private YouTube channel. This class has some thematic elements geared towards grades 4-6th. For previous art camp short films: Examples of Short Films Teacher: Jacob Spill Grade Level: 4th-6th Number of Students: 10 Special Instructions: Students must have a media release waiver on file with Fuller Lodge Art Center to participate. Class 5: Introduction to Trading Card Games (Magic the Gathering and Pokemon) Time 1:00 PM-4:00 PM Returning for its 4th year running, this fun class structured like a tournament and scavenger hunt, teaches the basics of play and advanced techniques for two of the most popular Trading Card Games around: Magic the Gathering and Pokemon TCG. Learn fundamentals and tips and tricks from Champion player David M Daniel in a welcoming and approachable format for players of all skill levels. And the truly brave may compete in the course to become Class Champion of the Cards! Teacher: David Daniel Age Level: 12+ Number of Students: 12 Special Instructions: All students will be provided with starting decks for both games to play with during class time, so no prior purchase of cards is necessary to sign up. Prizes will include booster packs for both games. NOTE: Students are WELCOME to bring their own cards and decks, however this is at the STUDENT'S RISK, and no damage or loss of cards will be reimbursed by the instructor or FLAC.
