2 levels of competition open to pre-college Iowa flutists The Iowa Flute Wonders Competition takes place during Ioaw Flute Fest - Sunday April 3rd - and has 2 divisions: Junior Flute Wonders: open to Iowa flutists in grades 7, 8, and 9 (maximum of 10 entrants) Senior Flute Wonders: open to Iowa flutists in grades 10, 11, 12 (maximum of 10 entrants) Deadline for entry is March 20 at 11pm CST.Competition fee per entrant is $15, payable through this Eventbrite event.Requirements: Upper level solo of choice – this may be accompanied or unaccompanied: under 7 minutesEach contestant will perform for a panel of judges on Sunday, April 3. PIeces with piano accompaniment may be performed with a live pianist of their choice. If a contestant is unable to secure an accompanist, Drake University will provide one for a fee of $35.Prizes: 1st Prize for Senior Division [grades 10,11,12]: $2001st Prize for Junior Division [grades 7,8,9]: $1001st Prize winners in each division will be invited to perform on the Iowa Flutists in Concert which will be held on the Jordan Stage in Sheslow Auditorium.2nd and 3rd place winners will also be awarded.This registration is separate from the Iowa Flute Festival Registration.
