Delaware County Paramedic, 33, Dies From Coronavirus

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — A Delaware County paramedic died from the new coronavirus recently, according to officials in the county. Crozer EMS said that Mercy Fitzgerald Paramedic Kevin Bundy, 33, has died of COVID-19. According to Delaware County Emergency Services, Bundy succumbed to the virus Sunday. Stay up-to-date on developments, sign up for Patch emails Bundy, who graduated from Delaware County Community College's Paramedic Program in 2016, worked his last shift on April 1. He became ill after that shift and was in the hospital since April 7, according to county officials. According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, officials believe he got the virus while on the job. In addition to Mercy Fitzgerald, Bundy also served with Crozer-Keystone Emergency Medical Services Department. "Please keep the Bundy Family, Mercy and Crozer Paramedic Departments in your thoughts and prayers," Crozer EMS said. "Kevin we will take it from here. Rest easy brother." As of Monday morning, Delaware County has had 40 deaths related to the virus. Additionally, the county has identified 1,633 cases to date.
