Join the community of painters with this fun event. For March, we will continue with the two different skill levels, Novice and Advanced. Each kit will contain a cool model and some thematic materials. Your goal is to paint the model and show off your creativity and skill! 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will be determined based on a few specific categories and judged by our painting instructors. How to ParticipateSign up quickly! We only have 15 kits per skill level!You may only sign up for Novice OR Advanced, NOT BOTH!Pick up your competition kit starting on Sunday, March 20th.Get to painting!Take some good pictures of your completed model. This might be the most important part! If the judges can't see you've spent 6 hours on highlights, then it does no good! 4 pictures minimum: front, back, and both sides.Post those awesome pictures on our Discord NO LATER THAN Sunday, March 27th.We have a lightbox set up for the community to use for this event! Make sure to take advantage of it. Choosing a Skill CategoryIf you do not consider yourself a novice/beginner, choose the Advanced category. If the competition continues to grow, we are considering adding more categories. Model GuidelinesModels must be presented on a base that is similar in size to the base provided in the kit. Similar is considered up or down a base size. Example: If a 28mm base is provided, participants may choose to use a 25mm or a 32mm base instead. Roughly 50% of the kit material types must be utilized. Example: If provided with glitter, sticks, gems, and flocking, participants must use at least two of those four things in the final presentation. Using every piece of the kit material is not required. Kit materials used must be visible and noticeable. How Models are JudgedOur wonderful paint instructors will be judging your models and assigning point values based on the categories below. Each category will be scored 0-5. Categories: Overall painting skill, level of detail, overall use of color, originality and creativity, creative use of kit materials.
