Walmart Begins Implementing One-Way Aisles In Delaware County

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — In an effort to increase social distancing during the new coronavirus pandemic, the Walmart stores in Delaware County are implementing one-way aisles. On Thursday, all Walmart locations started using the single-direction aisles. This includes all Delaware County locations. "There will be floor decals in place to help indicate the direct traffic flow. You will find green 'Shop This Way' decals indicating the entrances of each aisle," Walmart said in a Facebook post Tuesday. "You will find red 'Do Not Shop This Way' decals to tell opposing traffic not to enter the aisle." Walmart announced in a news release April 3 it would implement one-way movement through the stores, in order to "promote health, safety and consistency for our associates and customers in this environment." Here are the Walmart locations in Delaware County: 400 S. State Road, Springfield50 N. Macdade Boulevard, Glenolden1570 Chester Pike, Eddystone605 Conchester Highway, BoothwynWalmart has also instituted other safety changes to combat the spread of the coronavirus, including installing plexiglass barriers at checkout lanes, limiting the number of customers allowed in the store, taking employees' temperatures, and requiring all employees to wear face masks.
