STAMFORD, CT — Last week, the Stamford Republican Town Meeting elected new officers. Joshua Esses, who is a lawyer and also a member of the Stamford Board of Education, was unanimously elected as the RTC's new chairman. "Stamford deserves two vibrant parties. We are going to give it to them," Esses said in a news release. "We will provide a thoughtful alternative to the one-party rule that has plagued our city and state for the last decade." Esses succeeds outgoing chairman Fritz Blau, who led the party for the last six years. Patrick Sasser, a Stamford firefighter, was also elected as vice chairman, a seat previously held by Andrew Krill. Sasser has also been a political activist. He founded the group No Tolls CT in response to the idea of tolling on state roadways. Sasser said in a news release he looks forward to "building up the Republican Party in Stamford by focusing on good government, accountability, transparency and promoting the fundamental values of the party."
