CHESTER, PA — Former Vice President and Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden paid a visit to Delaware County Monday as he vies for votes in his home state. Biden made a surprise visit to Chester Monday afternoon. President Donald Trump made stops in Lehigh, Lancaster and Blair counties Monday. The Scranton native stopped by one the county's voter services center in Chester. >>>RELATED: Biden Holds Lead Over Trump In PA, New Poll Indicates<<< There, he gave a short speech in which he criticized the Trump administration's coronavirus response. When taking questions from reporters, he called President Donald Trump's events "superspreader" events and called them in appropriate "I just hope he and the vice president and others act with some dispatch and do what everybody knows," he said, referring to testing attendees, mask usage, holding events outdoors, and keeping distance from others. He also reiterated his commitment to keeping fracking operational, as well as oil production, while saying he would invest in clean energy. Biden said he'd be visiting states such as Iowa, Wisconsin, Georgia, Michigan, and Florida as a lead up to Election Day. He also took a question about the Supreme Court, saying he's opposed to justice term limits but has heard ideas of floating judges between courts to prevent them from always stating on the Supreme Court. Pennsylvania is a key battleground state, with both Biden and Trump making strong pitches to Pennsylvania voters. In the 2016 election, the state was decided by about 44,000 votes. Pennsylvania was one of three traditionally blue states that propelled Trump to victory in 2016. Trump was the first Republican presidential candidate to win Pennsylvania since George H.W. Bush in 1988. Both candidates have been campaigning heavily in the Keystone State in an effort to win over (mostly suburban) voters.
