MEDIA, PA — A Delaware County man is facing charges after yelling racial slurs and making threats to peacefully rally participants last weekend, according to the Delaware County District Attorney's Office. Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer Friday said charges have been filed against Brian Setnick, 60, Aston, for ethnic intimidation, making terroristic threats, and harassment. The DA's office said Setnick was seen on video making racial slurs and directing threats at individuals participating in a peaceful rally at the intersection of Pennell Road and Concord Road in Aston the afternoon of May 31. Authorities launched an investigation Tuesday after some rally participants came to theAston Police Department and gave statements to Officer Shane Coyle. The participants also gave Coyle a video of the exchanges with the defendant. According to the DA's office, the video shows at approximately 7 p.m. on the day of the rally, a red Jeep Wrangler heading east passed through the site of the rally, an intersection commonly known as "five points." The driver, later identified as the Setnick, was recorded saying racial epithets and said "you better watch out," according to the DA's office. The DA's office said Setnick also nearly caused a collision with another vehicle when yelling at the participants. Aston Police Department dashcam video of the rally also captured the encounter between the Setnick and the participants. The DA's office said more witnesses came forward with additional statements and video of the interaction on Wednesday. All seven witnesses reported feeling personally threatened by the words and actions of the defendant, officials said. The District Attorney and the Criminal Investigations Division remind anyone in Delaware County who observes suspicious activity call to 911 immediately and provide the most specific and accurate details possible to assist law enforcement agencies investigating the call for service.
