FOLCROFT, PA — Two women are behind bars and facing charges in connection with a shooting and a firearm straw purchase, according to Delaware County authorities. Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer and Folcroft Police Chief Bill Bair said Gaynell Noel-Warren, 31, of Folcroft, and Leslie Ford, 26, of Philadelphia, were arrested and charged in connection with a July 25 shooting in Folcroft. According to authorities, police were called to 16 King Ave. in Folcroft for a report of a gunshot victim and found Noel-Warren at the residence suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to her foot. Authorities said Noel-Warren shot herself during a fight with another person. A gun case was found in Noel-Warren's home after police got a search warrant for her home. Authorities said the gun case's serial number was tracked to Ford, who bought the gun in May at a Chadds Ford store. The gun was reported stolen out of Philadelphia June 26. Ford later admitted to police that she have the gun to Noel-Warren, who is a convicted felon and barred from possessing a firearm, after buying it legally, according to authorities. Noel-Warren was charged with one count of illegal possession of a firearm, Reckless endangerment and criminal conspiracy, and related charges. Ford was charged with the illegal transfer of firearms, criminal conspiracy, and providing false information, as well as related charges. The two were unable to post bail, which was set 10 percent of $75,000, and are being held at the George W. Hill Correctional Facility. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for both on Sept. 3.
