Patch has partnered with Feeding America to help raise awareness on behalf of the millions of Americans facing hunger. Feeding America, which supports 200 food banks across the country, estimates that in 2020, more than 54 million Americans will not have enough nutritious food to eat due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic. DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Delaware County's annual food drive is being broken up into four separate donation events due to the coronavirus pandemic. This year, four drive-thru food collection events are taking place across the county. Residents are invited to donate and support the County's Food Drives on Saturday, Nov. 14 and Saturday, Dec.5. On Nov. 14, drives are being held from 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. at Garnet Valley Middle School, 601 Smithbridge Road in Glen Mills, and from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Ridley High School, 901 Morton Ave. in Folsom. >>>RELATED: World Kindness Day, Close The Meal Gap In Delaware County<<< Then on Dec. 5, drives will be held from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Haverford Township Municipal Building, 1014 Darby Road in Havertown, and from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Radnor Police Department, 301 Iven Ave. in Wayne. All these events are drive-thru, meaning people are to drive through the parking lot and volunteers will take items from their trunks to trucks for Delaware County food pantries. Items needed include: dry food goodspeanut buttercanned meats and tunastewsricebeanssoupscerealpaper towelstoilet paperdish soaplaundry detergenttoothpastedeodorantbar soap for bathingbaby diapers and wipesformulahand sanitizercleaning wipes.
