MANCHESTER, NH — Manchester Police and a SWAT team responded to an address on Harvard Street Tuesday for a man wanted on several charges. Several streets around the area were closed to traffic. Around 5:15 p.m., officers arrested Carlos Claudio, 43, of Manchester and charges in connection with an incident that had taken place in October. "On Oct. 17, Claudio had been located passed out in a car parked outside of the Cumberland Farms at 108 Webster St.," said Heather Hamel, a department spokesperson. "Manchester Fire personnel were trying to check his condition. When Claudio came to, he was acting strangely. Police arrived to assist and Claudio took off. There was a foot pursuit and a K9 track was conducted with negative results. Claudio had discarded a bag during the pursuit and it was found to have a stolen gun and drugs inside. Police also learned that Claudio was a convicted felon. Warrants were issued for Claudio's arrest." On Tuesday police received information that Claudio may be at a Harvard Street address. Police were able to confirm that Claudio was inside. For the safety of residents, the building was evacuated. The SWAT Team was deployed and a public address system was used to make contact with Claudio. Police were able to take Claudio into custody without incident. Claudio's charges include armed career criminal, felonious use of a firearm, receiving stolen property, possession of controlled drugs, falsifying evidence, and resisting arrest. He was scheduled for arraignment on Wednesday in Hillsborough County Superior Court North. ©Jeffrey Hastings www.frameofmindphoto.com/news.
