Responsible for laying floor coverings in establishments such as buildings, restaurants, homes, offices, and apartments. Uses various materials, including commercial carpet (modular and broadloom), luxury vinyl tile, sheet vinyl, VCT, hardwood, rubber cove base and wood trim. Primary responsibilities are: Loading and unloading flooring materials into vehicles. Demo old flooring materials as required and remove debris off site. Remove and replace furniture as required. Inspect and clean surface in preparation for materials. Use self leveler to prepare floor to receive new material. Sweep, scrape, sand, or chip dirt and irregularities from base surfaces, and fill cracks with putty, plaster, or cement grout to form smooth foundation. Cut flooring materials using knives, saws, and other cutting tools. Use adhesives, staples, nails, or "click locking systems" to secure floors in place. Install padded underlayers or vapor barriers. Install floor covering to the standards or quality defined by Virgin Carpets Inc. Clean up job sites, inspect finished floors for any flaws and repair as necessary. Replace any defective flooring material. Work with other installers and trades as required. Must be handy with tools and have good organizational skills. Job Type: Full-time Pay: $16.00 / hour - $20.00 / hour (based on capabilities and experience)
